E & J had their southern Maine wedding at Scotland Fields, in York, Maine- full of color, sunshine, and salt air. They hosted just over 100 of their friends and family to celebrate their love on a property with rolling fields, salt water marshes and a historical home with a huge barn. Friends & family can stay on the property from Friday-Sunday, making this a super sweet spot to customize a wedding celebration.
The bride and groom chose to have limited bridal parties- just one on each side, which is a trend we’re seeing more of and loving. It gave them time to have real connection while they got ready on their big day, and their families got to be much more involved too. All of that is a recipe for great candid photo storytelling.
Let’s talk details- this southern Maine wedding was decked in them. From the bride’s multi-layer asymmetrical dress, to the pops of soft pink in the glassware, E and her team of creative vendors thought through every detail. The napkins on each place setting came from a fabric from her grandmother. The groom’s suit was custom made by the iconic Tony Shirtmakers, a Maine native- and the bride came out in a matching set as her second outfit to end the night.
We used our documentary style of photography to highlight the little candid moments and big details of this southern Maine wedding. We’d be happy to return to Scotland Fields anytime.
